Welcome to The Geocacher

Welcome to The Geocacher website.  This new WordPress blog will be strictly devoted to topics and content that are related to the high-tech world-wide treasure hunting game of geocaching.

It doesn’t matter if you are new to the game or if you have been caching for years.  All are welcome and all are encouraged to participate and help build the content and community of this site.

You will find many different things here and of course right now things are in their relative infancy so content will be slim until it has been added by cachers such as yourself.  Examples of what you will find: 

Forums – This is an interactive “conversation” area… Share your thoughts and comments.  Exchange ideas.  All we ask is that you keep it civil, no personal attacks please, and that you keep your discussion on topic.  (Also if you represent a commercial entity please disclose this in your posting.)

FAQs – These are the Frequently asked questions.   They will be divided into categories to make them easier to use.  Post questions here that you believe will benefit the entire community once answered.

Downloads – This section will contain files that you may find of interest as a geocacher.  It could include anything from templates for cache cards to public domain cache pictures.

Gallery – Speaking of pictures this is where they go.  If you would like to share pictures of some of your caches or the places you have been we’d all love to see them.

Links – We hope to build an extensive link log that will be sorted by categories so that you can find other sites similar to this one, sites that may have products that you would be interested in, or sites devoted specifically to a particular topic of interest to geocachers.

Contests - I am intrigued by the concept of caching contests.  In the spring I will be starting a contest page for those that would like to jump into the realm of this fun as well.

Above all we hope you will find a friendly community of people that you would love to meet while you are out caching and that you may learn a few things or share your knowledge along the way.
