I’ve had my GPS unit for quite awhile.  In fact I even knew about geocaching but never really embarked on the adventure until this past summer.   I must say after about 30 cache finds so far I am hooked!

The Bomb Squad and Geocaching???

Today (12/23/08) in Waynesboro, PA another geocache was interpreted by the local authorities to be a device of unknown origin and potentially dangerous.  You can read the article here… They ultimately ended up blowing it up and are now searching for the person that placed it.

In this day and age where you just can’t be too careful I can fully understand individuals (ie. muggles) being overly cautious when they see a stranger hide something [...]

Is Geocaching a Sport? Hobby? or Game?

When I started thegeocacher.com I wondered where it should be placed in terms of categorization.  I think we could fairly place it into categories with sports, hobbies, or games.  There are quite a few more categories you could use to describe geocaching, but ultimately I thought those 3 were the most all encompassing.
