 I love creating geocache’s. Everything from building the container to finding that ideal spot to hide it (or vice versa… sometimes you find the spot and then create the container after). In the area we live, we get A LOT of snow. Typical cache hiding places become much more difficult. Difficult because people have to get to them, and difficult because they may be buried in inches to feet of snow. I’d like to place [...]  I like my “travelers”. Sometimes I like them so much that I won’t share them with others by sending them out into the world to move from cache to cache to cache. Rather I will add them to my personal collection to enjoy. For those of you new to the sport/hobby or you simply don’t know travelers – travel bugs, geocoins, pathtags, etc. are serialized (numbered) items that are placed into a geocache with [...]  While is was off doing other things I happened to miss Eclectic Penguin’s release of the Atlanting Puffin geocoin. I’ve included an image on the left here of what this coin looks like. I have searched a number of places on the Intenet and I have not been able to find anywhere that has this coin available. If you happen to be one of those collectors that purchased a number of these I would be interested [...]  You may recall in my earlier post I had been reading about these cute penguin geocoins in a few blog posts and I had to have one. I tracked down the website where I could actually buy them and placed my order for one copper and one brass finish. Yesterday (1/15) they waddled through the door… Well I guess technically I must have been doing the waddling because they were nicely packaged in a bubble wrap [...]  OK… I couldn’t help myself. I had been reading about this penguin on various blog posts in the blogosphere and well, once I found the correct website to make the purchase I just couldn’t help but buy a pair. They appear to be elegantly simple and quite charming! I believe these were actually made by Oakcoins here in the states but the designer and owner is from the UK… His geocaching moniker… Eclectic Penguin of [...] |
