 I like my “travelers”. Sometimes I like them so much that I won’t share them with others by sending them out into the world to move from cache to cache to cache. Rather I will add them to my personal collection to enjoy. For those of you new to the sport/hobby or you simply don’t know travelers – travel bugs, geocoins, pathtags, etc. are serialized (numbered) items that are placed into a geocache with [...]  There is a great campaign going on now that tries to help families reconnect with nature and to experience it first-hand. In our busy worlds this is not always an easy thing to do. Here’s an interesting statistic from the Ad Council… In the last 20 years the time children spend outside has declined by 50%. Personally I believe a large portion of this decline can be attributed to things like computers, television, video game [...]  While is was off doing other things I happened to miss Eclectic Penguin’s release of the Atlanting Puffin geocoin. I’ve included an image on the left here of what this coin looks like. I have searched a number of places on the Intenet and I have not been able to find anywhere that has this coin available. If you happen to be one of those collectors that purchased a number of these I would be interested [...]  Interesting how life gets in the way of some of the fun things that we enjoy. Fun things like geocaching, or blogging. For those of you that frequent thegeocaher.com or used to frequent the blog when it was being updated, I am renewing my commitment to periodic postings which means I am going to also be renewing my commitment to my geocaching adventures so that I will have something at least remotely interesting to write [...] |
